MACK-CALI SELLS CMBS INVESTMENT

Cranford, New Jersey-December 13, 2002—Mack-Cali Realty Corporation (NYSE: CLI) today announced it has sold its investment in ARCap Investors, L.L.C., a joint venture formed to invest in unrated B pieces of commercial mortgage-backed securities, for $20.225 million.

The investment is expected to provide Mack-Cali with an internal rate of return of 11.61%.

Mitchell E. Hersh, chief executive officer, commented, "While this investment was a very successful one for Mack-Cali, we decided to redeploy our capital into more strategic direct real estate investments that are consistent with our overall strategy of owning and operating class A office properties in the Northeast."

Mack-Cali Realty Corporation is a fully-integrated, self-administered, self-managed real estate investment trust (REIT) providing management, leasing, development, construction and other tenant-related services for its class A real estate portfolio. The properties enable the Company to provide a full complement of real estate opportunities to its diverse base of approximately 2,000 tenants.
